David Burgess

Mr. David Charles Burgess, 61, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He was born March 28, 1952 in Avon Park, Florida the son of the late Mr. Clarence John William Burgess and the late Mrs. Lillian Pauline Carter Burgess. He worked as a bin operator at Vulcan Materials and was of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Lucille Brock Burgess of Carrollton; four sons, David Whitney Clarence Burgess and his wife, Brandi of Heflin, AL, Jonathan Maurice Burgess and his wife, Misty of Cold Water, MS, Charles Matthew Thomas Burgess and Eric William Roy Burgess both of Carrollton; sisters, Fay Miller of Texas, Cynthia Collins of Villa Rica, and Angela Nichols of Texas; brother, Clarence John Burgess of Waco; half sisters, Missie Burgess and Chivon Burgess both of Carrollton; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn McClay Burgess, Emily McCoy Burgess, Kailin Poe, and Cooper Poe; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica. Interment will follow at Arrington Chapel Cemetery in Piedmont, Alabama.
