David Chitwood

Mr. David Chitwood, age 81, of Douglasville, formerly of Stockbridge, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016. He was born July 9, 1934 in Atlanta the son of the late Mr. John Chitwood and the late Mrs. Mary Ruth Fink Chitwood. He served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Chitwood retired after 34 years of service for Ford Motor Company serving in many departments as assembly line to Supervisor. He was member of Panhandle Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Emory Chitwood, Alton Chitwood, Daniel Chitwood, Mark Chitwood, Rufus Chitwood, Willis Chitwood, and Andrew Chitwood; sister, Frances Penn and Elvira Owens.He is survived by his wife, Penny Chitwood of Douglasville; two daughters, Deborah Stinson of Stockbridge, Teresa Sheppard of Hiram; sons, Michael Prickett of Arkansas, David Chitwood of Douglasville, Troy Chitwood of Wrightsville; brother, Thomas Chitwood of Fayetville; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Magness officiating.
