Mr. David Frank Echols, age 70, of Villa Rica, passed away on March 23, 2026. He was born on August 26, 1955, in Villa Rica, Georgia, to Mr. Frank Forest Echols and the late Mrs. Carolyn Jeanette Watkins Echols.
David graduated from Douglas County High School in 1973, embarking on a career as a fire truck diesel mechanic. His commitment to his trade exemplified his dependable and hardworking nature. Beyond his professional life, David was an active member of Ephesus Baptist Church, where he found community and spiritual strength.
He loved spending time in Mexico Beach with his family. He was a man who found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments. One of his greatest passions was fishing along the shores of Mexico Beach, where he felt most at peace with the sound of the waves and the pull of a line. Those quiet days by the water brought him happiness and created memories that will be cherished forever.
At home in Georgia, he was known for his love of classic cars. He took great pride in his collection, always eager to show them off and share stories behind each one. Whether he was polishing them in the driveway or heading out to local car cruises, he found true joy in the community, the craftsmanship, and the admiration of others who shared his passion.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie Fannin Echols; his father, Frank Forest Echols; and his daughters, Dana Echols Raines (Richard) and Deanna Echols Lewis (Tony). He also leaves behind his sisters Cynthia Echols Wisener (Mike) and Alicia Echols Brumbelow (Tim), along with his cherished grandchildren, David and Ella Raines. Additionally, David’s memory lives on through numerous nieces, nephews, and an extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who held him dear.
