David âDaveâ Winship Kelsey, age 83, formerly of Tampa, Florida, and recently of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017. He was born July 7, 1933 in Connecticut, the son of the late Elias Isbel Kelsey and Eleanor Crosby Kelsey. He was a graduate of Florida Southern College, and a veteran of the United States Army. He retired as Vice President of Human Resources at University Community Hospital in Tampa, following 29 years of service. He was a dedicated Rotarian, past Chairman of the Board of Florida Central Credit Union, past board member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and after retirement he volunteered at the Florida Hospital in Zephyrhills, Florida. Mr. Kelsey was a 65-year member of the First United Church of Tampa where he served as treasurer for many years. He loved softball, bowling, golf, and playing cards and board games with friends and family. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Ken Patrick of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law, Scott Kelsey and Jenn Ballentine of Decatur; sisters, Ellen Kelsey Dubocq and her husband Marico Wilson of Arizona and Sue Kelsey Taylor and her husband Herb Taylor of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Rhiannon Patrick, Chase Patrick, Jack Kelsey and Lila Kelsey; several nieces and nephews, and countless friends. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Memorial Services will follow at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville.
