Mr. David Ronald "Ronnie" Ivey, age 75 of Winston, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021. He was born June 5, 1945 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Harry G. Ivey and the late Mrs. Mary Todd Ivey. Ronnie worked for Georgia Power Southern Company in fleet services for 45 years without an accident and retired as a fleet supervisor. He was selected to work on several special projects including Georgia Power's preparation for the 1996 Olympics, also as a team leader for the restoration to Georgia Power Specifications on a 1951 Chevrolet pickup for displaying at the corporate office in early 2000. Mr. Ivey enjoyed restoring classic car interiors, and going to the beach, especially to Destin, Florida. He loved his family, his dog Tootsie, NASCAR and going camping. Mr. Ivey was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son, Todd Ivey; sister, Betty Jo Brown.
Mr. Ivey is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mrs. Glenda Holland Ivey of Winston, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Chuck Perry of Kennesaw, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Harry "Butch" and Anita Ivey of Marietta, Georgia; two grandchildren, Jonah Ivey and Bella Ivey; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville with Pastor Jamie Wynn officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Memory of Mr. David Ivey to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to First Baptist Church Douglasville.
