Mr. David Spencer Pruitt, Jr., age 64, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at his residence. He was born November 5, 1945 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of the Mrs. Geneva Akins Milam of Douglasville and the late Mr. David Spencer Pruitt, Sr. He was of the Baptist Faith and worked as a truck driver. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. He was a member of the American Legion, the Amvets Post #118 and was a Shriner. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Terry Gibson of Douglasville; his son, Steve Pruitt of Franklin; his mother, Geneva Akins Milam of Douglasville; sister, Susan Morgan of Douglasville; brother, Bobby Milam of Carrollton; 5 grandchildren, Chastity, Spencer, Tyler, Tiffany and Stephen; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Mr. David Spencer Pruitt, Jr. will be conducted Friday, January 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Alpharetta with military honors rendered by the Georgia National Guard Honor Guard.
