David Wingfield transitioned to be with his Lord and Savior on September 5, 2022, after a ten-month battle with prostate cancer. He transitioned peacefully in his sleep at home with family.
David was born on September 24, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of William Wingfield and Marie Wingfield (nee Byrd). His parents preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers Michael Wingfield, Gilbert Wingfield and William Wingfield.
To cherish his memory, David leaves his wife, Pieretta (Hughes) Wingfield; his sons, Darren M. Wingfield, David A. Wingfield, Douglas S. Wingfield and daughter Donna Wimberly; his siblings, Rita Rivers (Ted), Vivian Hill (Wes), bother Charles and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
David worked for Synthetic Products (NKA Ferro Corporation) for 54 years before his retirement in 2008. During his time at Ferro, he left to serve in the United States Marine Corps where he achieved the rank of Corporal.
David has requested cremation and no service. Those who wish to remember David in a special way may make donations in his memory to God’s Miracle Temple, PO Box 18148, Cleveland Height, Ohio 44118.
