David Lamar Wooten

David Lamar Wooten, 83, beloved father, cherished grandfather, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2023. He had a deep appreciation for family. David's warm heart and kind nature touched the lives of many, leaving a mark on everyone he encountered.

He was born on June 17, 1940. He is the son of the late George Walter Wooten and the late Nadine Lois Camp Wooten. Family meant the world to him. When not spending time with his family, David discovered solace in two hobbies. He adored watching western movies and enjoyed gardening.  He was US Army veteran, having served in Vietnam.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Elaine Scott Wooten; son, Gregory Lamar Wooten; brothers, Dennis Wooten and Gary Grant.

He is survived by his son Keith (Davina) Wooten of Tallapoosa, GA; grandchildren Trista (Chad) O'Neal, Greg Wooten, James Wooten and Taura Wooten; as well as several great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Church of God Cemetery on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM. The following will serve as pallbearers, Chad O’Neal, Matt Stiles, Greg Wooten, Trista O’Neal, Taura Wooten, and Beverly Cook.

As we gather to honor the memory of David, let us remember the joyous moments we shared with him. Our lives have been forever touched and blessed by his presence, and we will carry his memory in our hearts for always.
