Mrs. Deborah New Hunter, age 60, of Douglasville, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018. She was born December 2, 1958, the daughter of the late Mr. Bobby J. New and Mrs. Sarah Jane Youngblood New. She was a very selfless and Godly woman and a very faithful member of First Baptist Church in Douglasville where she taught the 11th and 12th grade boys Sunday School Class, sang in the church choir, and loved reading her Bible. She loved her family and her boys very much! She never complained always very strong, loved to read, enjoyed knitting and needlepoint, and had the gift of encouragement. She is survived by her husband, Ricky Ray Hunter; sons and daughter-in law’s, Christopher Ray and Sally Hunter of Marietta, Matthew Lee and Kathleen Hunter of Roswell, Brandon Allen Hunter of Atlanta, Phillip Andrew Hunter of Douglasville; sisters and brother-in-law’s, Sandra and Jimmy Lester of Whitesburg, Cindy New of Douglasville, Leila and Doug Jones of Douglasville; brothers and sister-in-law’s, Johnny and Terri New of Winston, Bob and Sue New of Lithia Springs, two grandchildren, Jonah Christopher Hunter and Levi Daniel Hunter, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville Thursday January 3, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 4, 2019 at 1:00 PM from First Baptist Church of Douglasville with Dr. John Pennington, Dr. Jimmy Lester, and Pastor Tim Akin officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens. Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
