Mrs. Deborah âDebbieâ Mary Michalsky Mugridge, age 47, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away peacefully in her sleep at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica early Tuesday morning, May 4, 2010 after a long and brave battle with leiomyosarcoma (LMS). Debbie was born in Hartford, Connecticut, the third daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Michalsky and the late Mrs. Maureen Ahern Michalsky. She was a 1980 graduate of Newington High School in Newington, Connecticut. Debbie attended and graduated with a Bachelorâs degree in art therapy from the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, New York in 1984 and moved to Georgia in 1987, where she met and in 1996 married Jonathan âJayâ Mugridge. In 1998, Debbie and Jay proudly welcomed twin children, Jared and Lindsay into their family. Before being diagnosed with LMS, Debbie worked in many capacities in the reprographic industry, with her last employment being with Imaging Technologies in Atlanta. Debbie was an art and music enthusiast. She enjoyed being outdoors, crafting and was a talented artist. She could sew without a pattern and she loved to bake, especially Christmas cookies with family. Debbie loved animals, especially her family pets. She was a member of the Villa Rica Church of Christ. Debbie was a devoted wife and mother, a loving sister, a doting aunt, ever-caring niece and a forever friend. In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Ann Michalsky. Survivors include her husband, Jay Mugridge of Villa Rica; her daughter, Lindsay Mugridge of Villa Rica; her son, Jared Mugridge of Villa Rica; her sister and brother-in-law, Theresa âTerryâ and Brian Earley of Villa Rica; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shirley and John Mugridge of Oxford; her sisters-in-law and their husbands, Kristin and Mark Banfield of Oxford and Clare and Kenneth McLaren of Villa Rica; her nephews and niece, Trenton Swancey of Ranburne, AL; Hannah Morris of Villa Rica; Jacob Earley and Lucas Earley of Villa Rica; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive. Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted Friday, May 7, 2010 at 4:00 PM at West Georgia Memorial Park in Carrollton, Georgia with Minister Patrick Gray officiating. Proudly serving as pallbearers will be her brothers-in-law and her nephews.
