Mr. Delmar Bankston, age 87, of Temple, passed away, January 1, 2020. He was born August 22, 1932 in Hazel Green, Al the son of the late Miss Dulia May Bankston. He enjoyed joy riding on country roads. He traveled through 48 of the 50 states in the U.S.
He is survived by his wife, Dura Ann "Judy" Martin Bankston of Temple; daughters and sons-in-law, Tona and Frank Cook of Bremen, Dena and Charles Clark of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Melissa Bankston of Temple; brothers and sister-in-law, Newman Petty of Fayetteville, TN, William Petty of Temple, Wayne and Nancy Petty of Carrollton, Glenn Petty of Temple; three grandchildren, Alisha and Michael Monstvil, Matthew and Victoria Cook, and Nikki; three great-grandchildren, Jade, Skyler, and Will; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Friday, January 3, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Brandon Bivins and Pastor Edna Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica.
