Deloris Ruth Baxter, 81, of Temple, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. She was born on May 3, 1944, the daughter of the late Dewey Roberts and the late Dena Adkins Roberts.
Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and dear friend. She embodied strength, love and unwavering support. She was always uplifting those around her and she had an extraordinary gift for making each member feel loved.
She was an avid member of Liberty Christian Church in Temple. Ruth’s strong faith formed the foundation of her life. She inspired all who knew her with devotion, kindness, and love. She was an amazing cook whose delicious meals brought family and friends together for countless occasions.
Ruth also had a unique way of expressing her love through the written word. She took great joy in sending cards to family and friends, celebrating birthdays, holidays, or any special moment worth noting. Her thoughtful gestures brough lots of hugs and smiles delivered through the mail, reminding everyone of her caring nature.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Baxter; brothers, Henry Eskins, Dewey E. Roberts, James Roberts, Tommy Roberts, and Billy Roberts.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca Moody, Liz and Donald Norman all of Temple; brother and sister-in-law, George and Vicki Roberts of Carrollton; four grandchildren, Donnie, Amanda, Matt and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Darcy Jaxson, and David; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 10:30 until 12:00 PM at Liberty Christian Church in Temple with funeral services at 12:00 PM with Minister Neil Weathington and Mr. Phillip Wynn officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Christian Church Cemetery.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Michael Hohenberger, Andrew Jones, George Roberts, Matthew Norman, Donnie Norman and Phillip Wynn.
Ruth leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. We celebrate a life beautifully lived, filled with laughter, love, and the warmth of shared stories. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will undoubtedly live on in the memories and hearts of her beloved family and friends.
