Denise Childers Wester, 72, of Lithia Springs, GA, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026. She was born on February 8, 1954, the daughter of the late William Dean Childers and the late Elene Bunch Childers.
Denise devoted much of her life to the service of others as a school bus driver for 22 years with the Douglas County Board of Education. Her commitment to the safety and well-being of the children she transported was a testament to her caring nature and steadfast sense of responsibility.
Denise’s warmth extended beyond her professional life; she was a person who deeply valued the bonds of family and friendship. She found great joy in traveling, especially with her cousins, sharing adventures and creating lasting memories. The beach and the mountains held a special place in her heart, offering her moments of peace and reflection amidst their natural beauty.
Those who knew Denise remember her as someone who truly loved spending time with her family, cherishing every opportunity to come together and celebrate life’s moments. Denise loved to lift her hands in praise to the Lord every Sunday and she loved her Church family. Her gentle spirit and genuine affection for those close to her will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her loving husband Bobby Wilson Wester; sons, Bart (Jennifer) Wester of Temple, GA, and Colby Wester of Temple, GA; sister, Debbie (Mike) Kimbrell of Temple, GA; brother, Danny (Em) Childers of Marietta, GA; three grandchildren, Ethan Wester, Bailey Wester, and Brady Wester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and Inurnment will be at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 11:30 AM.
Denise leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and a joyful appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who were touched by her presence.
