Diana Carmley Dixon

March 1, 1943 — June 7, 2024

Douglasville, Georgia

Diana Carmley Dixon, age 81, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on June 7, 2024. Diana was born in Tennessee on March 1, 1943 to the late Mr. Luther Carmley and the late Mrs. Tilda King Carmley.

Throughout her life, Diana embodied qualities of love, friendliness, and selflessness. Her heart of gold shone through in everything she did, whether it was tending to her garden – where she found solace planting daffodils and roses in her favorite color, yellow – or spending time with her cherished family.

A proud grandmother, Diana's proudest accomplishments in life centered around her family. Diana's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family circle as she was always ready to help others. Her crafty nature added a special touch to everything she did. While Mr. Lewis served in the military, Diana's role as a devoted wife was evident throughout their 59 years of life together.

In addition to her parents, Diana is preceded in death by her brothers, Wilburn Carmley and Randall Carmley; as well as a sister, Martha Carmley, who passed away in infancy.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Lewis Dixon; son, Greg Dixon; daughter, Kimberly Dixon; grandchildren, Derrick, Lidia, Jessica, Makayla, and Emily; brothers, Marlin Carmley, Loomis Carmley and his wife Thelma; as well as extended family and friends.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Diana Dixon was cremated. Her family will plan a private celebration of life that will be held at a later date.

Messages of condolence may be sent to www.jones-wynn.com. Jones-Wynn Funeral Home and Crematory of Douglasville is in charge of the arrangements. 770-942-2311.
