Mr. Dominic “Nic” “George” Marquise Melvin White, age 25, of Chesapeake, VA formerly of Douglasville, GA passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015. He was born March 21, 1990 in Bethesda, Maryland. He was a member of Kingdom Builders Christian Center in Norcross and attended The Church at Chapel Hill with his mother. Nic was a loyal, charismatic, free spirited young man who was loved by all that knew him. He was an easy going, forgiving man that loved life. He loved his family, his girlfriend and her sons, and his friends and was a protector of family. He loved basketball and loved playing with his little brother, Aidan and his aunt, Brei. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls. He is survived by his mother, Tanisha Moreland of Douglasville; father, Michael Hawkins; brother, Aidan Moreland; grandmother, Doris F. White of Chesapeake, VA; his girlfriend, Jackie Martinez and her two sons, Jordyn and Alijah; uncles, Calvin Rowe and Robert Cox; aunt, Brei White; several other aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other family and dear friends. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville Friday, October 16, 2015 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Apostle Jamie T. Pleasant, Ph.D officiating. The family asks that those attending the service wear his favorite colors, red and black, in memory of Nic. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Following the interment, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Douglasville Public Safety Complex, Community Center. 2083 Fairburn Road, Douglasville, Georgia 30135.
