Donald Clayton Morgan, 88, a beloved husband, father, deacon, and military veteran, passed away on December 17, 2023. He was born on May 22, 1935, in Dallas, Georgia, to the late Mr. Henry Clayton Morgan and the late Mrs. Mary Lou Baker Morgan.
Donald's passion for serving others led him to become a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church. During his youth, Donald showcased his musical talents as part of a quartet. Donald's military service was another significant chapter in his life. He served in the US Army for an admirable twenty years before retiring as a USA MSGT. He completed three tours of duty in Germany and one tour in Vietnam. In the final years of his service, he worked diligently for the National Guard. Donald's commitment to protecting the freedom and values of his country is commendable and serves as a testament to his bravery.
Outside of his professional endeavors and military service, Donald enjoyed various hobbies and interests. He had an admiration for nature and found joy in activities such as deep-sea fishing and hunting — both deer and bird hunting. Donald also explored different states across America during his time in the military - he visited Alaska, Florida, California and many other destinations. His zest for life extended beyond traveling; he took pleasure in hunting, bowling and singing as well.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Scott Morgan.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Morgan; son, Tim Morgan; grandchildren, Stephanie Yeary, Dylan Morgan, and Patrick Morgan; great-grandchildren, Evie Yeary, Ella Morgan, and Mila Morgan.
