Donald Womack

Mr. Donald William Womack, age 80, of Franklin, Georgia, passed away Friday, September 27, 2019.He was born May 5, 1939 in Chattooga County, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Robert William Womack and the late Mrs. Mattie Lou McCrickard Womack. Mr. Womack was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed selling cars and worked as a car dealer. Mr. Womack opened the Douglas County Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth dealership on Bankhead Highway in 1977. He loved to spend time riding his John Deere tractor and dearly loved his dog, Sadie. In addition to his parents, Mr. Womack was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Nicholson Womack and his son, Mickey Womack. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Scott Traylor of Franklin, Cynthia and Kelly Mills of Rome, Donna Womack and Lisa Weiner of Tampa, Florida; sons and daughter-in-law, Chris and Tammy Womack of Douglasville and Jonathan Womack of Villa Rica; daughter-in-law, Cathy Womack of Villa Rica; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Mary Ann Womack and Ricky and Mary Womack, all of Rome; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville from 5:00PM until 7:00PM. Funeral service will be conducted Monday, September 30, 2019 from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglasville at 3:00PM with Mr. Keith Fallin officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Hendrix, Jake Womack, Scott Johnson, Justin Womack, Scott Traylor and Curtis Womack. Interment will follow in Rosehaven Cemetery, Douglasville, Georgia.
