Mrs. Donna Marie Brown Carter of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Friday, August 15, 2008 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice. She was born June 16 in Albany, Ohio. She married D.S. Carter on January 22, 1971 in Atlanta. She was a member of the Lithia Springs United Methodist Church where she was actively involved with the United Women’s (UMW), the Guilder’s Circle of the UMW, and she was a member of the Northwest Georgia Walk to Emmaus. She worked at Rich’s for over 31 years serving as a manager. Mrs. Carter enjoyed serving others and being helpful. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was devoted to her family and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her father, Leonard Brown and mother, Elizabeth Stout; she was preceded in death by her brother, Arnold Lee Brown. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, D.S. Carter of Lithia Springs; daughters, Teresa Carter of Douglasville and Terry Robeson of Atlanta; sons and daughter-in-law, Danny Carter of Lithia Springs and Wayne and Jody Carter of Franklin, TN; her stepmother, Eula T. Brown of Vidalia; sister, Beta Mae Wallace of Hamilton, Ohio; grandchildren, Melissa Carter, Jeremy Carter, Jason Carter; great-grandchildren, James Carter and Jacob Carter; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, August 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Lithia Springs Methodist Church with Dr. Lawrence Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Leo Marquez, Andy Marquez, Phil Marquez , Roger Logan, Bob Burbaker, and Scott McKown. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Progressive Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Sunday, August 17, 2008 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu, of flowers contributions in memory of Mrs. Carter may be made to the Lithia Springs United Methodist Church, designated to Conference Apportionments, PO Box 627, Lithia Springs, Georgia 30122.
