Donnie Hopson

Mr. Donnie Allen Hopson, age 71, of Douglasville, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013. He was born September 19, 1942 in Michigan the son of the late Mr. Chester Hopson and the late Mrs. Violet Pauline Crow Hopson. He retired after many years from Yellow Freight. Mr. Hopson loved music and played and performed with his band, Shadows of Blue. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Hopson; sister, Carolyn Hopson Sides. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Spees of Douglasville; son, Donnie Hopson of Michigan; three grandchildren, Holly and John Ugo of Ft. Campbell, KY, Scott Hopson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Kelsie Spees of Douglasville; five great grandchildren. The family will received friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 12:00 PM from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Daniel officiating.
