Dora Cowan Harris Hawkins

Mrs. Dora Cowan Harris Hawkins, age 100, of Rossville, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at her residence. She was born November 12, 1909 in Douglasville, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. James Albert Cowan and the late Mrs. Vassie Naomie Swafford Cowan. She was a seamstress and a member of the Riverside Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Janet and Wayne Lowry of Rossville and Malor Cheatham of Villa Rica; sister, Betty VonKleeck of Villa Rica; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 4:00 PM at the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Hemphill officiating. Interment will follow at Pray’s Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
