Doris J. Eley

August 30, 1939 — June 11, 2022

Doris Eley of Douglasville, Georgia, passed peacefully in her sleep on June 11, 2022. Daughter of the late Paul and Mattie Hayes, Doris was raised in Hogansville, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Lonnie Eley; son, David Paul Eley; granddaughter, Emily Marie Eley; sister, Mary Neal Hayes; and brother and sister in law, Paul Jr. and Connie Hayes. Surviving family members include her son Dennis Eley and his wife Sherri of Douglasville; daughter-in-law, Tammie Eley of Butler, Georgia; grandchildren, Brandi Eley-Green and husband Sean of Douglasville; Jay Eley of Atlanta; Jordan Eley of Douglasville; and great grandchildren, Jackson and Lucy Green. She is also survived by her sisters Dolores Barnard of Covington and Darlene Williams of Newnan, as well as many nieces and nephews. Doris had an adventurous zest for life. She loved her family with all of her heart. Her number one love, however, was Jesus Christ. It would be Doris's wishes that if anyone does not know the Lord as their Savior, that they would come to know Him. Please join us at the funeral to learn how you can spend eternity in heaven with Doris. There will be a graveside service at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs, Georgia, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests the support of the Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church mission offering and children's church camps in Douglasville, Georgia. Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com. Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville is in charge of the arrangements. 770-942-2311
