Mrs. Doris L. Gibbs, 77, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice. She was born February 17, 1931 in Bowdon, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. George H. Lovvorn and the late Mrs. Maude Kemp Lovvorn. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs. Mrs. Gibbs served as a realtor at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Douglasville for over 27 years. She was honored with the prestigious Phoenix Award in 1999, was a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and a Graduate Realtors Institute (GRI). Mrs. Gibbs was a member of the West Georgia Board of Realtors. Mrs. Gibbs was a retired hair stylist and member of the National and Georgia Hairdressers & Cosmetologist Association. She was a member of the Eastern Star #314 of Austell and the Sweetwater Swirls. She enjoyed painting and was an avid reader especially enjoying her daily devotionals. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Ray Gibbs. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Delaine and James Searcy of Winston and Sharon and Stewart Johnston of Douglasville; two sisters, Myrtis Haynes of Bowdon and Bobbie Jean Calhoun of Lithia Springs; brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Helen Lovvorn of Bowdon; grandchildren and their spouses, Toby and Melissa Foster, George and Anna Johnston, Heather and Mike Weisenborn, Andrew and Diana Johnston, Deena and Robby Stewart, Kerri and Bobby Estes and Avery and Shane Kato; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. Marion Beaver and Rev. Mike Sinyard officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with her nephews serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Friday, March 21, 2008 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
