Mrs. Doris W. Grant, 82, of Douglasville, Georgia formerly of Cartersville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. She was born July 30, 1923 in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. James Wellmaker and the late Mrs. Leannie Wellmaker. She served in the U.S. Navy as a Wave at the U.S. Pentagon. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Cartersville having attended for over 30 years and attended Grace Church in Douglasville. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Smith, Sr. and her son, Charles Thomas Smith, Jr. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Russ Parker of Douglasville; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Ida Smith of Marietta; 8 grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Smith of Brandon, FL; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Jon Payne and Mr. Joe Fowler officiating. Interment and graveside services will be at 3:00 PM at Oak Hill City Cemetery in Cartersville, Georgia with her grandsons, Steven Smith, Michael Thomas Parker, Aaron Smith, Adam Smith, Ardon Smith, and Clayton Smith serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel on Friday, January 13, 2005 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
