Mrs. Doris Thomas Hatcher, age 83, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2007. She was born July 21, 1923 in Douglas County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Sol Thomas and the late Mrs. Willie Miles Thomas. She married James Glenn Hatcher on October 3, 1945. She and her husband were charter members of the First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville. Mrs. Hatcher was a homemaker, a faithful wife for over 61 years and was a playful, loving and devoted mother to her son. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, James Deward Thomas. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James Glenn Hatcher of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law, James Kenneth Hatcher and Denise Adams Hatcher of Douglasville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred and M.C. Walton of Douglasville and Nellie Faye and Warren Moses of Cordon, IN; two brothers, Miles Thomas of LaGrange and Joe Thomas of Douglasville, several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, January 19, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville with Rev. Keith Hill and Rev. Jan Warren-Taylor officiating. Mrs. Hatcher will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Smith, Herb Emory, David Walton, Greg Thomas, Stanley Freeman, and Mickey Cantrell. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Quinlan and Bill Hatcher.
