Mrs. Dorothy Janis Camp, age 82 of Austell, peacefully passed away on July 1, 2024. She was born December 21, 1941 in Hopewell, VA to the late Mr. Tomas Janis and the late Mrs. Anna Mozucha.

Dorothy was a remarkable individual known for her love of reading and traveling. Exploring the beautiful landscapes of the United States brought her immense joy. She enjoyed flower arranging, painting crafts and enjoyed a flower garden. At one time she volunteered at convalescent homes and had a charitable spirit. A devoted mother, Dorothy poured her heart and soul into creating lasting memories with her daughters. Her role as a young mom was not just a title but a commitment to nurturing, guiding, and supporting her children every step of the way. Those who had the privilege of knowing Dorothy would agree that she possessed a friendly demeanor that could light up any room. A natural conversationalist, she had a way of making everyone around her feel welcomed and heard. Her genuine interest in others and willingness to engage in heartfelt conversations left a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her brother, Rudolph Janis.

She is survived by her daughters, Teresa “Terry” Curtis and Tom Camp of Powder Springs, Sharon “Sherry” Jones of Douglasville, Karen Graham and Larry Prostick of Powder Springs; grandchildren, Janis Curtis, Taylor (Tyler) Shuler, Leslie “Jake” Jones and Katie Holcombe, Sydney Graham; great grandchildren, MaKenna, MaKayleigh and Rome.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM. The memorial service will follow at 3:30 PM.
