Dorothy Elizabeth Causey Stokely, 72, of Whitesburg, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton. Mrs. Stokely was born September 28, 1935 in Ranburn, Alabama the daughter of the late Henry Virgil Venable and the late Erma Elnora Huey Venable. Mrs. Stokely worked as a cosmetologist and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Cecil Venable; and sisters, Opal White, Ruth Thomason, and Lennie Mae Venable; and daughter in-law, Glenda Causey. Survivors include her husband, David L. Stokely of Whitesburg; daughter and son in-law, Teresa and H.T. “Bucky” Bowen of Whitesburg; sons and daughter in-law, Tommy H. and Patricia Causey of Oxford, Alabama; and Rev. Michael W. Causey of Forsyth; step daughters and sons in-law, Teresa and Randy Nantz of Lakeland, Florida; and Susan and Charles Rudolph of Davenport, Florida; her loving step mother who raised her from childhood, Velma Venable of Temple; sisters and brothers in-law, Margaret Watson of Mt. Zion; Patricia and David Driver of Temple; and June and Cecil Prince of Carrollton; brothers and sisters in-law, Donald and Mary Jim Venable of Tyus, Georgia; Harold and Jean Venable of Valrico, Florida; and Douglas and Carol Venable of Temple; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 7:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Michael Jeremy Causey officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Villa Rica on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Friday, March 28, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Saturday, March 29, 2008 from 6:00 PM until the funeral hour.
