Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Franklin, age 89, of Douglasville, formerly of Canton, Georgia, went home to the Eternal Garden of Our Lord on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. She was born July 20, 1923 to the late Virgil and Cradie Wood. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Retired Veteran Navy Officer Eugene Howard Franklin, Sr.; her son, William Durell Moore; sister, Jewell Abercrombie and her parents, Virgil and Cradie Wood. Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Franklin is survived by her loving daughter, Joan Elizabeth Loden and son-in-law, Charles G. Loden of Douglasville; sister, Barbara Hardeman of Lawrenceville, Georgia; grandchildren, Kenny and Wayne Butterworth of Lithia Springs; Allen Loden of Dallas, Georgia, Billy Loden of Douglasville, Georgia, Robin Loden Baker of Douglasville, Georgia, Buddy Moore of Longwood, FL, Lila Gordon of Atlanta, Georgia, Jennifer Moore and Crishell Moore; fourteen great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Franklin was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and watching NASCAR. She was a kind gentle soul with a smile that could light up a room and she will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Friday, August 24, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia 30076. The following will serve as pallbearers: Billy Loden, Austin Loden, Buddy Moore, Wayne Butterworth, Kenny Butterworth, and Dean Baker.
