Dorothy Elizabeth Hamrick

Dorothy Elizabeth Baggett Hamrick, 96, of Douglasville, was a cherished member of her community and a beloved figure among her family and friends, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2024. She was born on April 25, 1928, the daughter of the late Howard R. Baggett and the late Willie Dodson Baggett.

Dorothy’s family meant the world to her. She loved her family immensely. In her career, Dorothy served as a diligent bookkeeper for C and R Food Stores and The Tiger's Den Restaurant. Outside of her professional life, Dorothy brought joy and enthusiasm to her hobbies and interests. She had a remarkable passion for golfing, a sport that allowed her to enjoy time outdoors. Additionally, Dorothy found great pleasure in bowling and softball.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Hamrick; daughter, Carole Elizabeth Hamrick Brewer; son Larry Hamrick; grandsons, Seth Hamrick and Lee Hamrick; brother, Russell Baggett; sisters, Mary Ayers and Gladys Daniell.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Hal and Beverly Hamrick all of Douglasville; four grandchildren, Shea, Blake, Erin, and Traci; five great-grandchildren, Landon Harrell, Bradlee Sellers, Kane Sellers, Maggie Rice, Rebecca Dalton and Riley Moon; great-great grandchild Meta; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Ephesus Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM at Ephesus Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating. Interment will follow at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Blake Brewer, Shannon Goodson, Landon Harrell, Bryan Harrell, Seth Dalton, Joey Rice, and Mickey Baggett
