Dorothy Jane Ridley

Dorothy Jane Ridley, age 74, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026. She was born in Douglasville, Georgia on April 19, 1952 to the late Mr. Rufus M. Terry and the late Mrs. Dorothy I. Kirkley Wellman.

Those who knew Jane remember a woman of gentle strength and kindness. She was calm, soft-spoken and truly a great listener, always offering her attention and warmth without reservation—her heart of gold was evident in every encounter.

Jane’s creativity shone through her passion for drawing and coloring. She found joy and peace in her artistic abilities, cultivating a lifelong love for arts and crafts. Some of her favorite hours were spent simply watching television—especially The Andy Griffith Show and classic Western movies. She was also an enthusiastic bingo player.

Dorothy Jane Ridley will be deeply missed, but her calm presence and kind-hearted spirit will remain a source of inspiration and comfort to all who shared in her journey.

In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her son, Richard Ridley.

She is survived by her loving sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Frank Foster, June and Kenneth Shuman, and Kathy Haynes; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

In accordance with Jane's wishes, she was cremated. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
