Dorothy "Rudine" Hamrick

Ms. Dorothy “Rudine” Ward Hamrick, age 82, of Winston, Georgia passed away Friday, October 30, 2009 at her residence. She was born April 10, 1927 to the late Mr. William Richard Ward and the late Mrs. Nancy Viola Stovall Ward. Ms. Hamrick worked in the clothing industry as a seamstress. She was a member of the Ephesus Baptist Church, the Martha Carter Circle and also a member of the Eastern Star, Chapter #423. Ms. Hamrick is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Harold Hamrick; a daughter, Rebecca Ann Hamrick; brothers William Dixon Ward, Earl Thelbert Ward, George Selma Ward, Thomas Winford Ward, Raymond Howard Ward and Frank O’dell Ward. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Mike Harrington of Winston; son and daughter-in-law James and Tess Thomas Hamrick of Temple, Georgia; grandchildren Jade Edwards and husband, Jason, Lee Harrington and wife, Brooke, Rholette Hornung and husband, Roberto, and Queenie Vi Lorilla; great-grandchildren Mia Harrington, Ethan Harrington, Bryson Chappell and Helen Rose Hornung; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 2, 2009 at 2:00PM from Ephesus Baptist Church in Winston with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating. Mrs. Hemrick will lie in state from 1:30PM until the funeral hour. Pallbearers will be Dale Ward, Jerry Ward, Pete Ward, Roy Ward, John Ward and Johnnie Echols. Interment will follow at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 1, 2009 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel, Douglasville.
