Dorothy Shepherd Reece Clay

Mrs. Dorothy Reese Shepherd Clay, age 76, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 3, 2010 at her residence. She was born November 8, 1933 in Villa Rica, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Adolphes Erastus Shepherd and the late Mrs. Myrtle Mae Couch Shepherd. She was of the Baptist Faith and worked as a knitter for the Villa Rica Hosiery Mill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.B. Clay, Sr., brother, Donald Shepherd; and sisters, Linda Emory, Katherine Keith, Janice Hackney, and Jean Henson. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Billy Wilbanks of Temple and Tammy and Michael Lanham all of Carrollton; sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Minnie Reese of Villa Rica, C.B. and Pam Clay of Huelett, Richard and Tina Clay of Temple, Charlie and Amanda Clay, Lee and Angela Clay, Danny and Amy Clay and Ray Emory all of Villa Rica; sisters, Rita Smith, Duranne Jarriell, Lula Mae Keith, and Betty Ruth Lumpkin all of Villa Rica; brothers, Junior Shepherd of Villa Rica, Ronald Shepherd of Villa Rica, Bud Shepherd of Douglasville, Danny Shepherd of Villa Rica and James Shepherd of Villa Rica; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Marty Hulsey and Rev. Josh Agan officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Villa Rica. Her sons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Monday, October 04, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
