Douglas Stewart, Jr.

Mr. Douglas “Doug” Leo Stewart, Jr., 83, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital. He was born May 6, 1931 in Grosse Tete, Louisiana, the son of the late Mr. Douglas L. Stewart, Sr. and the late Mrs. Janie Stokes Stewart. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He married Glenda Carolyn Helms on November 18, 1978 in Decatur, Georgia. He retired as a Regional Sales Manager having worked at Graham Medical. He believed in the Lord Jesus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Folks and brother, Jon Stewart. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Carolyn Helms Stewart of Douglasville; two daughters, Teri Stewart of Atlanta and Christina Stewart of Slidell, LA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Diane Vincent of Douglasville; 10 nieces and nephews; 11 great nieces and great-nephews. The family plans a private memorial service in celebration of Mr. Stewart’s life. According to their wishes, the body was cremated.
