Dr. David F. Dever, age 78, of Villa Rica formerly of Macon, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Tranquility Hospice in Austell. He was born October 9, 1931 in Quebec, Canada, the son of the late Mr. Francis J.H. Dever and Clothilda Burridge Dever. Dr. Dever worked and retired as a Professor of Chemistry at Macon State College. After living in Saudi Arabia from 1965-1968, Dr. Dever and his young family moved to Macon where he became a charter member of the faculty at the then Macon JR College . His life is celebrated by his wife of 52 years, Roberta âBobbieâ Forrest Dever of Villa Rica; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Rusty Haynes of Villa Rica; sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew Dever of Senegal, Andrew and Linda Dever of Florida, and Paul and Gigi Dever of the Philippines; sister and brother-in-law, Max and Denise Watson of Florida; grandchildren, Joshua Dever of Florida, Sara Dever of Florida, Paula Dever of the Philippines and Nicholas Haynes of Villa Rica; and two nieces and one nephew also survive. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to Spring Hill College Development Office 4000 Dauphin ST., Mobile, AL 36608 A Memorial Celebration will be conducted at a later date in Macon, Georgia.
