Mr. Ealon Deanie Ray, age 75, of Villa Rica passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega, AL. He was born November 15, 1936 in Paulding County, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. W. D. Ray and the late Mrs. Jessie Fuller Ray. He retired from ABF Trucking as a professional driver. Mr. Ray served in the United States Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica, where he attended the Fellowship Sunday School Class, he was chairman of the bus committee, had served as Deacon and served on various church committees. He was a member of the Villa Rica Lions Club, a former Villa Rica City Councilman and had served as a Little League Baseball coach. He is survived by his loving wife, Verrill Griffies Ray of Villa Rica; daughter and son-in-law, Natalie and Bill Benton of Douglasville; sons and daughters-in-law, Darryl and Amelia Ray of Villa Rica, Howard and Shaye Ray of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Parker Ray, Landon Ray, Taylor Benton, and Sydney Benton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Allene Hicks of Villa Rica, Elizabeth and Boyce Emmons of Mableton, Margaret and Grady McAllister of South Carolina, Lynn and Ron McWatters of Villa Rica, Carolyn Ray of Villa Rica, Bobbie Jean Levi of Villa Rica; brothers and sister-in-law, Henry and Charlotte Ray of Villa Rica, Ronnie Ray of Villa Rica. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica Friday, March 2, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Villa Rica with Rev. Jeff Powell, Rev. Jon Price, and Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Greg Hendrix and Jan Watts. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Gardens. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family from www.jones-wynn.com.
