Mr. Edgar Parks, 89, of South County Line Road, Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Monday March 30, 2009 at his residence. He was born February 4, 1920, in Cobb County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Mr. John Parks and the late Mrs. Siller Elrod Parks. Mr. Parks was a member of County Line Baptist Church in Lithia Springs. He was very active in his church and Sunday School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Belgium and in France. Mr. Parks retired from Wright-Lopez in 1985. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed time spent working and playing on his tractor. He was a loving and kind man and was cherished and loved by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Rita Baldo Parks; his brothers, Luther Parks, Arthur Parks and Johnny Parks; and his sisters, Ruby Tucker, Maudie Lee Tucker and France Kown. Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Dolores and Ted Colombo of Portland, Oregon; his sister, Mary Kown of Mableton; 3 Grandchildren, Ted Jr. and his wife Sharon, Jeanne Marie and her husband, Michael, Michael and his wife, Katherine; Great-Grandchildren, Tierney, Justin, Jake, Carmen, Christopher, Allison and Molly; Caregivers, Dorothy Singer, Martha Kidd, Sheila Sanders and Toshia Brown; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday April 6, 2009 at 11:00AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Adair officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Sunday April 5, 2009 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM.
