Mrs. Edna Hood Spencer, 83, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away Sunday, January 15, 2006. She was born on April 5, 1922 in Sugar Creek, Louisiana the daughter of the late William Burson Hood and the late Mrs. Ruth Louise Shaw Hood. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the PEO Sisterhood, Chapter M. Mrs. Spencer, a graduate of Louisiana Tech University, was also a member of Valley Hill Country Club and an active golfer. Her hobbies and interests included gardening, sewing, golf, and cooking. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Crow Spencer. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Spencer Kallus and husband, David of Birmingham and Linda Spencer Martin and husband, Ronald of Villa Rica; 3 grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew, and Lindsey. The family received friends at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama on Monday, January 16, 2006 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Graveside Services will be conducted Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 10:00 AM from Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston, LA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or a PEO project. Laughlin Service Funeral Home of Huntsville, Alabama in charge of arrangements. Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica in charge of local arrangements.
