Margaret "Maggie" Peters

November 17, 1948 — March 23, 2025

Margaret “Maggie” Peters, passed away on March 23, 2025, at the age of 76. She was born on November 17, 1948 to the late Viola Mae Hulsey and the late J.C. Bolton. Maggie dedicated over 27 years of her professional life as a manager at Cobb Pediatric Associates, where she made a significant impact through her caring nature.

Known affectionately as the "hostess with the mostest," Maggie was not just a professional but a social butterfly who filled her home with joy. Maggie loved bowling, fishing, and especially gambling - she also had a green thumb, growing a beautiful garden. In the kitchen, she enjoyed canning vegetables, a craft that demonstrated her love for homegrown goodness and sharing with others. Her friends and family will remember her not just for her culinary skills, but for her ability to tell it like it is, adding a little bit of sass to every conversation.

As the glue of her family, Maggie’s legacy is one of kindness, joy, and unapologetic truth, traits that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, Maggie is preceded in death by her son, Carl Coker; brother, Larry Bolton; and sister, Charlotte Harris.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Mr. William “Pete” D. Peters; her daughter, Dana (Russ Dickerson) Smith; step-daughter, Lisa Peters; daughter-in-law, Mona Coker; brother, Jackie (Susan) Bolton; brother-in-law, Fred Harris; sister-in-law, Janice Bolton; five grandchildren, Haley Coker, Josh Culbert, Nick Coker, Alex Coker and Tyler Peters; three great-grandchildren, Lucas Parker, Miles Mixon and Tilly Mixon; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Friday, March 28, 2025 and funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home and Crematory in Douglasville, Georgia.
