Edward Fowler

Coach Edward Lee Fowler, husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, and friend to all, went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2015. He grew up in Ellijay, Georgia, graduating from Gilmer County High School in 1972. He has lived in Villa Rica, Georgia, since his marriage to the former Faithe Parmer in 1976. He is survived by his wife, Faithe Parmer Fowler; children: Cory and Sara Fowler, Villa Rica, GA, Andrew and Emily Fowler, Cumming, GA, and Tim and Leslie Anderson, Carrollton, GA; along with 8 grandchildren: Suzana, Lila, Adilynn, Ryan, Sabrina, Emma, Cason, and Macyn. He is also survived by his siblings: Debbie and Neal Smith, Ellijay, GA, James (Rusty) and Sharon Fowler, Rotonda West, FL, and Tim Fowler, Ellijay, GA. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Charlotte Parmer; sister-in-law, Laura Wilcox; and brother and sister-in-law, George and Laurie Parmer, all of Villa Rica; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Lee and Geneva Fowler; grandparents, Lon and Mary Sluder Fowler and Joe and Lillie Davenport; his father-in-law, William Edward Parmer and brother-in-law, Dondi Wilcox. Coach Fowler was a long time teacher and coach in the Paulding County School District as well as Carroll County School District. His career in education started in 1976 at what was then Paulding County Junior High School and then renamed Herschel Jones Junior High where he was a teacher, coach, and administrator. He was also an administrator at Temple High School where he helped start the football program. His career ended in 2007 at East Paulding Middle School where he served as head football coach and athletic director. During his thirty-one year career, Coach Fowler influenced many who would go on to work in the education profession as administrators, teachers, and coaches. Though he left us far too soon, his legacy will live on in his family along with those who work in the profession he loved and took much pride in.The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Thursday, December 31, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Mr. Fowler will lie in state at Villa Rica Christian Church on Friday, January 1, 2016 from 1-2 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, January 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Villa Rica Christian Church with Minister Billy Kaylor officiating. Corey Fowler and Andrew Fowler will provide the eulogy.
