Edward "Hollywood" Raymond Laura, III

In Loving Memory of Edward Raymond Laura III “Hollywood” Edward Raymond Laura III, affectionately known to family and friends as “Hollywood,” passed away at the age of 70. Born November 7, 1955, in Tampa, Florida, Hollywood later made his home in Douglasville, Georgia.

Hollywood was truly one of a kind. He had a personality that left an impression on everyone he met, and if you knew Hollywood, chances are you have a story about him. He enjoyed life, loved to laugh, and had a way of turning friendships into lasting bonds.

The greatest love of his life was his wife, DeAnna. She was his partner, his companion, and the woman who shared his life through all its miles, adventures, laughter, and challenges. Their love was an important part of the man Hollywood was. The life they shared and the memories they created together are treasures that will remain with DeAnna always. One of Hollywood’s greatest passions was his Harley-Davidson. He loved the open road, the unmistakable rumble of a Harley, and the freedom that came with every ride. Riding wasn’t simply a hobby for Hollywood—it was part of who he was and brought him into a community of people who shared that same passion.

Over the years, Hollywood made many friends, and those friendships meant a great deal to him. Some were lifelong friends, others became friends through riding and the different chapters of his life, but each added something special to his journey. He treasured the good times, the conversations, the laughter, the rides, and all the stories made along the way. Many of his friends became more like family, and his absence will be felt far beyond those related to him by blood. The memories they made together—and undoubtedly a few stories that will be told for years to come—are part of the legacy Hollywood leaves behind. Family meant so much to Hollywood. He is survived by his beloved wife, DeAnna Laura; his children, Jason Laura and Terran, Michelle Clay and Kenny, Cameron Phillips and Elise; and his grandchildren, Tyler, Ashley, David, Rilee, and Jameson. He also leaves behind great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and a large circle of friends who loved him dearly.

Hollywood is also survived by his sisters, Pam Hamby and her husband, Mike, and Darlene Harper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rochelle and Edward Laura II. There will be an empty place where Hollywood once stood, but there will also be countless reminders that he was here. In the stories his family tells, the laughter shared among old friends, and every time the rumble of a Harley is heard in the distance, a little piece of Hollywood will be there. Ride free, Hollywood. May the road ahead be endless, the skies always clear, and may you always know just how many lives were better because you were part of them.

There will be a celebration of life for the public that will be announced at a later time.
