Edward T. Hood, age 93, of Douglasville, GA., passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at his home. He was born the youngest son of the late Arthur Lee and Celia Jones Hood on October 27, 1931, in Atlanta, Ga. He lived in Douglas County since early childhood, growing up in Lithia Springs. Mr. Hood retired from Steve Rayman Chevrolet, formerly known as John Smith Chevrolet, as the Credit Manager and entertained himself with fast cars as a young man. In another interest, he served Douglas County as Judge of the Magistrate Court for many years in the 70s and 80s. He was a member of First Baptist Church Lithia Springs since his teenage years where his parents were early members shortly after the church was founded in the late 40s. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Daniel Hood, his brother, Robey Lee, sister, Bessie Lou, infant son, Eric Charles, and daughter Lorrie Gouse. He is survived by his daughter, Renee Clark (Rick), son, Art Hood (Kim), 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and two more on the way. The family will hold a private family and close friends graveside service at Mozley Memorial Gardens, officiated by Pastor Kevin McCoy on Friday, March 21, 2025.
