Edward Lee Barrett

July 23, 1927 — March 30, 2007

Mr. Edward Lee Barrett, age 79, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Friday, March 30, 2007 at his residence. He was born July 23, 1927 in Cobb County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Orion Britt Barrett and the late Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Barfield Barrett. He served in the U.S. Army and Merchant Marines during World War II. He married Hazel Virginia Price on November 28, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was retired from the maintenance department with AT&T. He was of the Baptist Faith and served as a church usher. He enjoyed woodworking and building furniture. He had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed landscaping, and when living in Lithia Springs he received many compliments on his beautiful landscaped yard and flower garden. He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Mrs. Hazel Virginia Price Barrett of Carrollton; two daughters and son-in-law, Janet Elaine and Eddie Stoker of Winston and Teresa Diane Bilotti of Villa Rica; two sisters, Katheen Henry of Austell and Thelma E. Shead of Bremen; two brothers, Orion "Dennis" Barrett of Denton, TX and William "W.B." Barrett of Smyrna; 1 granddaughter and her husband, Amanda and Michael Patty of Jacksonville, AL ; one great grandson, Declan Patty of Jacksonville, AL; a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Mr. Edward Lee Barrett will be conducted Sunday, April 1, 2007 at 2:00 PM from Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel with Pastor Michael White and Pastor Jerry Price officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville. The family will receive friend at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Saturday, March 31, 2007 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
