Mr. Edward Mashburn Morgan, Jr., age 90, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020. He was born July 5, 1929 in Dekalb County, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Edward Mashburn Morgan and the late Mrs. Mary Baughn Word Morgan. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in WWII, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He retired from the Army as a Chief Warrant Office W-2, Cryptographic Officer. Mr. Morgan liked to play golf and watch sports. He was a loyal Georgia Tech and Atlanta Braves fan.
Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Rudean Westbrook Morgan of Lithia Springs; his daughter and son in law, Vickie Morgan (Curtis) Rogers of Easley, South Carolina; his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Edward (Shirley) Morgan of Baguio City, Philippines and Bruce Alan (Melinda) Morgan of Douglasville; his sisters, Virginia Hagler of Lithia Springs, Mary Ann Parson of Douglasville and Nancy Morgan of Douglasville; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 14 nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville, Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 1:00PM until 3:00PM. Funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 3:00PM with Pastor Clay Henry officiating. Interment with full military honors provided by the United States Army Honor Guard will take place immediately following the funeral at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville.
