Edward Travis Floyd

Mr. Edward Travis Floyd, age 78, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, August 30, 2010 at WellStar Douglas Hospital. He was born May 17, 1932 in Leesburg, Alabama the son of the late Mr. Vinnemon Floyd and the late Mrs. Mildred Rosalie Baldwin Floyd. He married Jannie Louise Clark on May 23, 1954 in Centre, Alabama. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as a carpenter and enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his family. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jannie Louise Clark Floyd; his children, Joyce Louise Floyd and Stanley Edward Floyd; sister, Linda Floyd and brothers, Daniel Floyd and John Floyd. He is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca Floyd and Barbara Fay Floyd both of Douglasville and Angela Lois and David Mooney of Villa Rica; son, Kenneth Lee Floyd of Douglasville; sisters, Katherine Chambers of Rome, Helen Williams of Cedartown, Dot Craddock of Clayton, and Wanda Wilson of Rockmart; brothers, Miron Floyd of Rockmart, Carroll Floyd of Mobile, AL, and Billy Floyd of Blairsville; grandchildren, Matthew Floyd, Jeremy Floyd, Natasha Floyd, Alexander Floyd, Janie Watts, Kristina Watts, Michael Loudermilk, and Tiana Mooney; three great-grandchildren, Luke Floyd, Elijah Floyd, and Eduardo Vazquez; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs with military honors. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
