Mrs. Elaine Mae Kershner Dwyer, age 79, of Carrollton, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, following a lengthy battle with heart disease. She was born January 21, 1936, in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Mr. Stanley Ellsworth Kershner and the late Mrs. Elaine Kathyrn Gross Kershner.She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Mrs. Dwyer was a retired Administrative Assistant. She was employed by AT&T for a number of years and worked for several banking institutions, but her favorite job was serving as Administrative Assistant for six years at Villa Rica First United Methodist Church.She was a longtime member of Villa Rica First United Methodist Church where she sang in the Chancel Choir, was a member of the Reba Roberds Sunday School Class, and served on various committees. She was also a member of the Emmaus Community where she served as a Lay Leader, and was a volunteer at Tanner Hospice. There was a special place in her heart for her dear friends from Curves better known as "The 10 oâclock Girls." She was an avid âGone with the Windâ enthusiast, having the privilege of meeting and staying the weekend with several of the actresses and actors from the movie. As a young mother, she taught Sunday School at Ft. Lauderdale First United Methodist Church. During her high school years in Hollywood, Fl, she was the President and Sweetheart of Nu Phi Mu Sorority. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin infant children, Deborah Ann Dwyer and Keith Allan Dwyer and her brother, Stanley Theodore Kershner. She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Anthony Dwyer, Sr. of Carrollton, whom she dated for four years and with whom, in October, she would have celebrated 60 years of marriage; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and David Denhart of Carrollton; son, Kevin Dwyer, Jr. of Carrollton; two grandchildren, Mitchell Denhart and Erika Denhart both of Carrollton; brothers-in-law and wives, Jim Dwyer, Bob and Mary Dwyer, Tom and Betty Dwyer, and Frank McMonigle; sister-in-law and husband, Helen and Jim Allen; and several cousins.The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Saturday, May 30, 2015, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A Service of Thanksgiving for Mrs. Dwyer will be conducted Saturday, May 30, 2015, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. James Smith, Rev. Linda Hessel, and Rev.
