Elby "Slim" Leonard McVey

Mr. Elby “Slim” Leonard McVey, 67, of Zion Hill Church Road, Bremen, Georgia passed away Friday, September 23, 2005 at his residence. He was born December 24, 1937, in Bell County, Texas. He was the son of the late Dan Earnest McVey and the late Ella Beatrice Whiteley. Mr. McVey was a member of Liberty Christian Church. He was owner and operator of E. L. McVey Grading and Hauling. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Angela Janice and Donnie Dowis of Temple; his sons, Michael Leonard McVey of Bremen and Wayland Eugene Marek of Carrollton; sisters, Jean Mark of Savannah, Nelda Gunby of Rouzerville, Pennsylvania, Radell Dabney of Rockwall, Texas and Glenda Beardmore of Mesquite, Texas; 2 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, September 25, 2005 at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Villa Rica with Minister Tom Howard officiating. Pallbearers will be Jim Perez, Junior Thompson, Bobby Gibbs, Earl Nichols, Danny Johnson and Steve Pruitt. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dave Pruitt. Interment will follow in Liberty Christian Cemetery in Temple, Georgia.
