Mrs. Elizabeth Cecille Capps Peters, age 32, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Saturday, October 3, 2009 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born August 4, 1977 in Charleston, South Carolina, the daughter of Dr. Richard Henry Capps, Sr. and Mrs. Joyce Wood Capps. Mrs. Peters was a graduate of Ledford High School in Wallburg, North Carolina. She then graduated from Shorter College in Rome, Georgia, where she achieved the rare double major in Vocal Performance and Music Education. Mrs. Peters later graduated with her Masters degree in Music Education from the University of Tennessee. She has worked as a music teacher at Turner Middle School with the Douglas County School System and was currently teaching music at McGarity Elementary School in Paulding County. While at Turner Middle School and under her leadership and direction, her group of students was selected to perform at Disney World in Florida. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Matthew Randall Peters of Villa Rica; her son, Brayden Matthew Peters of Villa Rica; her parents, Dr. Richard Henry Capps, Sr. and Mrs. Joyce Wood Capps of Wallburg, North Carolina; her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. R. Henry âHankâ Capps, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of Huntersville, North Carolina; one niece and one nephew; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dr. Randall and Brenda Peters; and her sister-in-law, Elizabeth King and her husband, Jason King also survive. A Memorial Service will be conducted Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 2:00PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Georgia with Revs. Todd Wright and William Lynn Peters officiating. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM.
