Mr. Elmer Julius Malcom, 72, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015. He was born September 11, 1942 in Social Circle, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Elmer James Malcom and the late Mrs. Leamon Head Malcom. He married Pamela Sue Arrowood on August 29, 1970 in Monroe. He retired from the City of Atlanta having served as a police officer for over 32 years. He was of the Baptist Faith and during the 60âs he served as a deacon and choir leader at Westend Baptist Church in Social Circle. He was an avid gardener and outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and skiing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Scott Julius Malcom and Charlotte Diane Malcom; and sisters, Rachel Ann Burt and Margie Belle Eason. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pamela Sue Malcom of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Dianne Malcom of Madison; daughters, Deborah Dodson of Anniston, AL and Gail Whitton of Madison; eight grandchildren, Michael Malcom, Michelle Armstrong, Crystal Reynolds, Renna Herrin, Nikki Whitton, Lacey Whitton, J.J. Malcom and Tiffany Dodson; five great-grandchildren, and two on the way; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Robert Burt officiating.
