Mrs. Emily Nell Rainwater Bentley, age 92, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Saturday, January 3, 2009. She was born December 28, 1916 in Hancock County, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. William Rainwater and the late Mrs. Ethel Matilda Rocker Rainwater. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She retired as a lunch room lady from Villa Rica Elementary School following 21 years of service. Mrs. Bentley was awarded the âMother of the Yearâ for Villa Rica by the Villa Rica Womenâs Club. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed spoiling them especially with her baking of cakes and special desserts. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Bentley and her daughter, Sue Bentley Taylor. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tillie and Hershel Parmer of Roopville; son, John Bentley of Villa Rica; sister, Martha Ruth Smith of Deland, FL; grandchildren, Amy Clower, Ashley Taylor, Kinney Taylor, Brad Taylor, Bill Parmer, and Tom Parmer. 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 2:00 PM from the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica with Rev. Jeff Jones and Rev. Mike Stephens officiating. Musical tributes will be rendered by Rev. Ben Pilgreen. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The following will serve as pallbearers: Stan Brooks, Jack Clower, Kinney Taylor, Brad Taylor, Bill Parmer, and Tom Parmer. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica, Monday, January 5, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mrs. Bentley may be made to the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica, Building Fund, 1483 W. Highway 78, Villa Rica, Georgia 30180.
