Mrs. Emma Jewell Burden Chambers, 94, of Dallas Hwy, Villa Rica, Georgia, passed away, Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica following an extended illness. She was born November 24, 1911 in Haralson County, Georgia the daughter of the late Bruce Burden and Mrs. Lydia Gentry Burden. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica. Her husband, George Amos Chambers who passed away June 17, 1988, preceded her in death, Survivors include 2 sons and daughter-in-law, Richard âDickieâ Chambers and Anthony âTonyâ and Margie Chambers all of Villa Rica, one sister, Mrs. Eloise Merrell of Carrollton, 2 granddaughters and grandson-in-law, Amelia Chambers and Nancy and John Brewton also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 5, 2006 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. J.B. Marlow officiating. Charles Cole accompanied by Mrs. Verrill Ray will provide musical selections of âSweet Sweet Spiritâ and âHow Great Thou Artâ. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Villa Rica with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Gene Wallis, E.D. Ray, Boyd Fraser, Terry Williams, Dennis Williams, Charles Hubbard Doris Tyson and Burnell Redding. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, October 4, 2006 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica, Building Fund at 1483 West Hwy 78, Villa Rica, Georgia 30180.
