Mrs. Emma Legare Williams Jordan, age 43, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 at her residence following a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born November 13, 1971 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating from North Cobb High School, she received her Bachelor's degree in psychology at Georgia Southern University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She received her Masters in school counseling at the University of West Georgia. She began her career as a Parent Resource Coordinator in the Georgia Pre-kindergarten Program. She served as a counselor at Holly Springs Elementary and at Lithia Springs High School. She served as Lithia Springs High School's representative for the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) and sponsored the National Honor Society. She was a devoted member of St. Julian's Episcopal Church in Douglasville where she sang in the choir. She is survived by her husband Carl Lunsford Jordan Jr. of Douglasville; her mother, Dr. Mary Sue Murray and stepfather, Ed Murray of Douglasville; her father, Dr. William Matthew Williams and stepmother, Sandra Williams of Ellijay; sister, Anna Williams of Jacksonville, FL; brother Matt Williams (Perri Williams) of Houston, Texas. Her stepsister Tonya Farmer (Mike Farmer) of Murfreesboro, TN; her stepbrothers Michael Ayers (Audrey Ayers) of New York, NY; Randy Murray (Vickie Murray) of Niota, TN; nieces and nephews, Sam Williams, Sarah Williams, Jacob Farmer, Sam Farmer, Nina Ayers and Altan Ayers; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Wednesday January 7, 2015 from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Memorial Service will be conducted Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 4:00pm at St Julian's Episcopal Church in Douglasville with Father Brandon Duke officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Andrew's Cemetery in Darien, GA at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 10th, 2015.
